Bypass Pumping Scheduled Week of
11/16/09
As part of the Town’s Shawsheen River Pump
Station Upgrade Project, the week of 11/16/09 we will be shutting
down the pump station to replace major equipment. In order to shut
down the station, we will set up a bypass pumping system behind the
existing pump station building. This system will run continuously,
seven days a week, until the majority of the work is completed. We
anticipated the work to take 4-8 weeks.
We have made all efforts to minimize the noise
generated from the system with a sound attenuation system to reduce
noise levels but there will be a somewhat elevated noise level
during operation of the bypass system. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause but the improvements to the station are
critical in order to maintain safe operation of the pumping station
and for the protection of public health and safety.
